In spite of the lack of grid support, Monk’s extra damage is still noticeable.

In most of these water solos, the wings end at around 75% HP or so from chain burst and AoE nuke damage. At the end of this one, they were at 58% HP, which was somewhere on the order of 45 million damage. Since there’s no targeting priority difference between the wings and the body that I know of, napkin math suggests that the autonuke was worth about 30% of MC’s total damage even without any particular emphasis on skill damage, since there’s nothing good available in the way of supplemental and Clarion 5* wasn’t available at the time. It’s quite a bit, although half of it going to waste on a body route run is kind of a bummer.

As good as True Strike is, Vajra provides more than enough dispels to necessitate another skill slot. Unyielding Form in place of substitute accounts for the mandatory class subskill while suffering less from the second turn of full hostility, and Splitting offers a way to both cover that second turn and general utility.

There’s little point in mainhanding GW fist when the counter on ougi is only really useful from 50-25%. Fortunately, Xeno staff is still very good.

The run wasn’t at all bad; MC having a bit of extra damage helps avoid problems with not pushing triggers in time. The biggest concern I had was the potential of MC needing to rebuild stacks since there’d be around two occasions where there’s a lot of damage to deal with (PL around 85%, then trigger + PL around 60%). In this run, though, things lined up; the first PL and Axion 60% both rolled some fire damage, which saved on needing to spend the few turns to get back up to 10 stacks.
